THE ALL-AMERICAN BOYS CHORUS NAMES NEW CEO

Genevieve Macias Appointed to Lead Chorus into Future after National Search

(SANTA ANA, Calif.) -January 18, 2019 – The Board of Directors of The All-American Boys Chorus (AABC), today announced the appointment of Genevieve Macias as its new chief executive officer.

“This appointment marks the beginning of a new era of leadership and growth for our organization and we are thrilled to welcome Ms. Macias to our community,” stated Bill Sanderson, chairman of the board of The All-American Boys Chorus. “She represents the right combination of experience, empathy and strength of vision that we as a board and staff want leading our organization, interacting with our parents, students and alumni, and representing the organization locally and internationally.”

Macias brings a combination of non-profit arts management as well as corporate communications to the new position. She will be leaving her current dual role as vice president of development and communications of the Long Beach Symphony and executive director of the Foundation for the Long Beach Symphony, where she oversaw all revenue for the professional symphony orchestra. Macias was responsible for leading the Long Beach Symphony out of a substantial deficit and succeeded in accomplishing five straight years of surplus budgets. She also currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors of the Association for California Symphony Orchestras and has held positions at Orange County’s Pacific Symphony and as a brand marketing senior account executive for Burson-Marsteller.

“I’m so happy to join The All-American Boys Chorus at this time in their development,” says Macias. “This organization provides a truly unique and inspiring environment for its students, and its board is ready to launch a vision for growth that is both incredibly exciting and challenging for me as a leader.”

“I’m looking forward to working with Genevieve to create more strategic partnerships with other symphony orchestras, choruses and arts organizations in the area,” says TAABC artistic director, Wes Martin. “She brings to our organization not only an understanding of the art form, but a refreshing perspective for engaging with more of the community in new and exciting ways.”

The TAABC choristers have sung before some of the nation’s most prestigious audiences -from U.S. presidents to well-known celebrities, and they have performed with some of today’s most successful vocalists including the Pentatonix, Sarah Mclachlan, Josh Graban, David Benoit, and Taylor Hicks. They have also worked in collaboration with local organizations including Disney, the Pacific Symphony, and the Pacific Chorale.
