Anthony Manrique, Executive Director

Mr. Manrique began his career with The All-American Boys Chorus in March 1970 at the age of 11. He is one of the 10 original members of the Chorus. He sang as a soprano for two years and in June 1972 became the piano accompanist for all rehearsals and concerts.

His musical background and education include 12 years studying piano and music theory with private instructors, eight years of participation in the National Guild of Music Teachers piano adjudications, annual performances in the California Music Teachers Association Festival programs, and solo performances in numerous Southern California recitals and music conventions.

Mr. Manrique graduated from Mater Dei High School, Santa Ana, Calif. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and a Master of Arts degree in business administration from the University of California at Irvine. He became the associate director and business manager for the Chorus in 1981 and was elected to the organization’s board of directors in 1983. In 1992 he was appointed executive director.

Mr. Manrique has developed and implemented many of the Chorus’s organizational procedures and policies. He’s currently responsible for all personnel, marketing and administrative functions. He continues to act as accompanist for rehearsals and performances when needed.

His personal vision for The All-American Boys Chorus is to develop the Chorus’s organizational structure and financial base to levels that will ensure its existence as a significant cultural institution that will benefit boys as individuals and the community at large far into the 21st century.
