2011 Summer Music Camp
DEAR FRIENDS,
Can you believe it? The All-American Boys Chorus is nearly finished with its 41st year. Yes, we can be proud of 41 years of splendid accomplishments and achievements in a highly acclaimed music education and leadership training program that is offered to boys of all races, faiths and nationalities
Our boys have represented America and performed to standing ovations all over the world, including Russia, Romania, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Germany; the eight largest cities of Japan; and in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, South Korea and China. Add our concert tours within the United States and to Canada and we have a total of 51 tours!
But to simply reflect on our successes tends to take our attention away from the challenges that lie ahead for the AABC. The economic climate in the United States is working against all of us—especially the non-profit arts community.
Currently, 115 boys rehearse 3 to 4 times per week, receiving instruction and exceptional example from a superb staff of AABC alumni and teachers. Those 115 boys are the future leaders of this country. They are the doctors, craftsmen, business leaders, attorneys, teachers, musicians, parents and civic leaders of tomorrow. Their formation and development cannot be put on hold until financial times are better. The All-American Boys Chorus is dedicated not only to the musical education of these great boys, but also to building the self-esteem, self-discipline and moral fiber of each boy in our program.
We turn to our friends at holiday time seeking financial support. This request for your assistance is more important now that it has ever been. We ask you to make an investment in our boys. However, this investment, unlike investments in the stock market, will NEVER lose its value—and that’s a solid guarantee! When you attend a concert or read about the great adventures of the AABC, you’ll know it is YOUR investment that made the music possible—it is YOUR investment that helped change a boy’s life—it is YOUR investment that is making a tremendous difference in the future of The All-American Boys Chorus.
These are certainly not times to take risks with our investments. But there is no risk when we invest in bright, talented, respectful and eager youngsters—like those who are proud to belong to the All-American Boys Chorus.
Your gift is vital. Together, we’ll continue to make a difference in the lives of young men who bring so much joy to so many people
Respectfully and gratefully,
Tony Manrique,
Executive Director (’72)

Gifts of Stock
Now is an excellent time of year to consider a gift of stock. A donation of appreciated stock gives you two types of tax savings. 1) A tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of gift; and 2) you avoid paying any capital gains tax on the increase in value of your stock.
Matching Gift Programs
Double your gift - ask your company about its matching gift program!
Tax-Free Charitable Gifts from IRAs
The distribution must qualify under the general charitable deduction rules of section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code, and the charity must be a public charity or conduit private foundation. The All-American Boys Chorus is a qualified charity.
Consult your plan administrator, personal attorney, tax advisor, or wealth management advisor to better understand how the distribution requirements apply to you.
